Drunk driving causes 3 deaths

August 27th, 2015 • drunk driving

Being arrested on drunk driving charges can have some pretty serious consequences. You can have your license suspended, have a pretty hefty fine and even end up in jail. If you hurt someone else in the process, you could even be sued. Of course, it doesn't stop there; your family and friends may judge you harshly and it could lead to job loss.

A 20-year-old man is accused of causing a fatal accident that killed three people last July. According to media reports, the man was also discovered to have purchased alcohol under-age by using a false driver's license. He will need a strong defense because he is charged also with three felony counts of death by motor vehicle and one count of felony serious injury by motor vehicle.

The 20-year-old not only purchased the liquor, he also consumed it before driving. He was driving the wrong way down a busy highway. The state troopers who responded to the accident were given the fake identification card by the man. It showed him to be 21-years-old, not 20.

After they realized that this was a fake driver's license, they got a search warrant and found out that he had purchased alcohol at two different businesses before taking off down the highway.

As you can see, the law takes this type of behavior pretty seriously. The best thing this young man can do is to cooperate with the police but say absolutely nothing to them other than requesting an attorney.

The young man is out on bail because his family scraped together the bond of $1 million. His attorney made a statement to the fact that the man's family is devastated and that they also are grieving for the three dead individuals. He went on to say that the man was cooperating with the law and that he would continue to do so.

There is nothing to do in a situation like this than to cooperate, have a lawyer who can give you guidance and can enter a good defense, and say nothing to the authorities.
